Store Policies

 

Diagnostics Fee:

Out-of-warranty machines are subject to a $99.00 diagnostic fee up front. This includes, but is not limited to, computers over 3 years old, computers with liquid damage and computers with visible physical damage. Any machine, be it warranty or non-warranty, on which work is performed, is subject to a $99.00 diagnostics fee. This occurs when the repair is declined, for any and all software repairs, or when no problems are found. If the diagnosis is completed, and the customer approves the repair, then the diagnostics fee will be applied to the repair charges.

Data Recovery Policy:

Data recovery is necessary when a drive is failing or has failed. The cost for this service is $250. If data is unrecoverable by TBI, the cost for the attempted service is $99.00. TBI Computer is not responsible for any lost or corrupt data.

Data Transfer Policy:

TBI Computer is not responsible for data transferred from one computer to another under any circumstances. If any problems occur during or after a data transfer, additional charges will apply. If software does not work after a data transfer, additional charges will apply. TBI Computer will reinstall software at hourly labor rates. Software can only be reinstalled if the customer brings in the original disks with valid product keys.

On-Site Cancellation Policy:

On-site appointments must be cancelled at least 24-hours in advance. Customers that cancel appointments less than 24-hours in advance will be charged a $99.00 cancellation fee.

Order Cancellation Policy:

There can be no cancellation of special order computers. There can be no cancellation of servers. All other cancellations are subject to a 15% cancellation fee.

Return Policy:

Computers are not returnable or exchangeable. Software is not returnable or exchangeable. Other products can be returned unopened and with packaging in new condition, within 15 days of purchase. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Non-Warranty Repair Policy:

TBI Computer will not go ahead with any repair without customer’s approval. Any machine needing repair that is not in warranty, and no proof of purchase can be furnished stating otherwise, will be charged a diagnostic fee of $99.00 up front, and will be billed out at an hourly rate plus the cost of parts. Any out-of-warranty machine sent to the Apple Repair Center or third-party repair center must be paid in full in advance. Facilitation fees may apply. Computers will not be sent to repair centers without advance payment in full. Apple parts are covered for 90 days from the date of the repair. If an installed part is returned due to change of heart, the labor cannot be refunded.

Warranty Repair Policy:

TBI Computer is an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Any machine that is brought in for repair will be checked for warranty. If the machine is reported as not in warranty, then the repair is subject to Non-Warranty Repair Policies. AppleCare Warranty may not cover all repairs. AppleCare Warranty does not cover liquid damage, accidental damage or software repairs. AppleCare does not cover data backup, data transfers, or data recovery. In all of these instances, repairs will be subject to Non-Warranty Repair Policies, and will be billed out at an hourly rate. Apple does not reimburse TBI Computer for software repairs. In-warranty machines needing software repairs will be billed out at TBI’s hourly service rate of $99.00. The definition of a software repair is any repair, or any part of a repair, not involving hardware.

Third-Party Warranty Policy:

A third-party warranty is any coverage on non-Apple branded hardware. In this case the part may be covered, but the labor will be billed out at an hourly rate. Facilitation and installation fees may apply. In the case of third-party warranty extensions, e.g. American Express, TBI Computer must first receive payment in full.

Software Policy:

TBI Computer is not responsible for any software. It is the customer’s responsibility to keep all software boxes, disks and product keys in a safe location in case programs need to be reinstalled. TBI Computer is not responsible for any lost discs, serial numbers, or product keys. If software needs repair, TBI will reinstall software only if the original disks and product keys are provided. If the customer cannot provide these, the customer will be responsible for purchasing another copy of the software. Software repairs are warrantied by TBI for 7 days from the date of invoice. Modification of the software after it leaves TBI voids the software warranty.

Rental Policy:

TBI Computer provides rental computers at a first-come, first-serve basis, at rates starting at $50 per week, rates varying depending on the rental model. Should a rental computer not meet specific needs, it must be returned within 24 hours for a full refund. TBI Computer does not guarantee that a rental will meet any particular specifications.

Disclaimer:

TBI Computer’s turn around time is 5-7 business days. However, extenuating circumstances may require us to keep the computer longer to complete the repair. TBI Computer is NOT responsible for lost data. Invoices unpaid for more than 30 days will be subject to an additional $35.00 fee. Checks returned are subject to an additional $35.00 fee. Any machine that has been left for more than 30 days will begin to accrue storage charges at $1.00 per day. Any machine left for more than 60 days will become the property of TBI Computer. TBI Computer is not responsible for lost cables or any other accessories.
